In 2024, as part of the "Tails of the World" book project featuring 80 pet photographers worldwide, Willow Creek Portraits chose to support the National Mill Dog Rescue — raising $1500 locally for their life-saving work.

This year, we're going BIGGER! This is an exclusive local book, and our goal is to far exceed our efforts in 2024 for NMDR through registration fees and book sales!

BUT WE NEED YOUR HELP!

We'll be featuring dogs and their unique stories from different households in the pages of a beautiful coffee table book, while making a difference for dogs in need! Want to find out how YOU can be a part of this?

GET INVOLVED

You have a unique opportunity to participate in this book project through fine art dog portrait sessions. These sessions will take place at the Willow Creek Portraits home studio in Colorado Springs on select dates.

100% of the registration fees for these sessions will be donated to the National Mill Dog Rescue, right here in Colorado Springs! Each session will be featured in an entire spread in the book. Proceeds from the book sales will benefit both the National Mill Dog Rescue and this project.

Participants can pre-purchase copies of the book at their session and will have a chance to purchase high resolution, fully retouched digital files of images from their session.

March 27-28, April 10-11, May 8-9, May 29-30

MORE INFO

- Each registration (session) is limited to three (3) dogs.

- You must book more than one session if you have more than three dogs that you would like to include.

- Sessions are 45 minutes each.

- You and/or your family may participate, but images of people are not guaranteed to be in the book.

- You will receive a preparation and style guide once you book, so you can be fully prepared and get all your questions answered.

- You will receive one full spread in the book for each session you book, containing 3 to 5 images.

- No purchase, other than the registration fee, is required.

- You will receive a gallery with all images from your session and are welcome to purchase as many as you like for $100 each.

- You will have an opportunity to pre-purchase copies of the book at the time of your session.

- You must be willing to sign a model/property release in order to participate.

About the Charity

The National Mill Dog Rescue (NMDR) was established in February 2007, in honor of a forgiving little Italian Greyhound named Lily, rescued by NMDR's founder, Theresa Strader. Determined that her years of suffering would not be in vain, NMDR now gives a voice to discarded breeding dogs across the country.

About the Photographer

I've always been an animal lover and can't imagine life without a dog! I have been fortunate to have had a career for 15 years now that allows me to capture the unique personalities of these little creatures and the special moments they share with their favorite people.

I'm so excited for this project! I've worked with the National Mill Dog Rescue several times over the years and admire not only the work they do, but their staff and volunteers and their selfless commitment to saving lives and giving second chances.

I really hope you'll get involved right along side us, allowing me document the story of your little Colorado Springs citizen(s) in a love-soaked, personality-packed, heartwarming and beautiful tribute for all to see (and read)!
